Spring’s a Slow Coming

Posted in Poetry/Lyrics at 6:34 pm by bizarrerhymes

The blade-runners bail is granted
Seeds from a few grains of rice are planted
Fruits of a billion-dollar diamond heist shared
Films of executed hostages aired.

The last snow flutters in the street lamp’s arc,
The pope resigns and the Vatican’s dark
Two years of Syrian war is enough to turn
Headline story to international concern

Sunshine, snow melts
Blue skies with clouds forming
Sun might be warmer but
The spring’s a slow coming.

Loved ones cry silently for help
Research labs strive for cures from kelp,
White smoke signals a spiritual spark
A quarter of Spain out of work in the park.

Baroness dies in a state of dementia
Causes debate on the good of the venture
The marathon bomb changes 2 Muslim guys
From quiet young men to terrorist spies.

Sunshine, snow melts
Blue skies with clouds forming
Sun might be warmer but
The spring’s a slow coming.

A tiny Texas town reels from a blast
Warsaw and London marathons passed
Bangladesh clothing firm crumbles and crashes
A thousand workers left in the ashes.

When you lose someone in war
You say what is it all for?
Is it control and power over others
Or keeping the resolve with the brothers.

Looking out the window at the salmon-pink sky
Trying to fathom the where and the why
Just a soul that’s lost in the twilight of evening
Just realizing I still yearn for the meaning.

Do You Feel My Pain?

Posted in Poetry/Lyrics at 5:36 pm by bizarrerhymes

Do you feel my pain when I punch you in the face
For being a Muslim a Christian a Jew a Gay,  a this or that?

Do you feel my pain when I bomb you to stop running
Or walking because I believe my cause is worth all of that?

Do you feel my pain when I shoot you at point blank range
Because you look like a burglar trying to steal what’s mine?

Do you feel my pain?

Or was it all in vain?
